The year is 2062, twenty years after the failure of the Elysion Project, a project with the goal of automating workforces all around the globe. After Artemis, the artificial intelligence within the core of the project decided to go rogue and oppose humanity, the earth became devastated. In the present time, a young girl, named Empress, awakens inside an underground research facility located in San Francisco without any memories of her previous life, only knowing that she must go to "Light House No. 8", the place she saw in her dream. As she is leaving the research facility, she meets Norito and Miya, a young brother and sister who are collecting water and other resources left on the base. Empress, along with the brothers, head to the surface but are then attacked along the way by an infantry unit of the "Titan" robots. They manage to escape after Empress effortlessly defeats the enemy, but once reaching the surface, they encounter more units and are greatly outnumbered.
