Like, such a good game. So good. If you have any doubt on if you want to play it, but it's on sale on steam atm or something, get it. It's got lore if you want it, but also you can choose to focus on the fighting side. It has different modes for diffculty, which is such a small thing, but I personally really appreciate it, because sometimes I want a hard, technical fight, othertimes you just want to have a chill story/ quest experience. IT has lots of quests/ things to see, so the open world does not feel empty in the slightest, however I like xploring just to see the scenery, so some people make just prefer to stick to just the base story. AND, if you like a sassy protagonist, I mean like that is the protagonist ig lol. The graphics are BEAUTIFUL, like you stop for a moment, and it's like 'holy fuck'. Personally i really like the combat system, it has lots of variability, and I love the ability to do stealth takedowns on human enemies, however I have heard some criticism of it being repetitive, I disagree however I do want to include it just to cover more bases. (The combat does update a little in the sequel, which makes me realise how it could improve in zero dawn, but personally I secretly still prefer zero dawn's lol)Then, whilst not the game itself, it means that you can play its sequel, which is just everything from zero dawn and just better, although the story focus is different of course. Talking about story, zero dawn's is just amazing. It's not a story thats forgettable, simply due to the premise, and how it makes you question OUR society, yet also gives you hope.
MILD SPOILER (with a bit of advice)
ugh, it's so good. However, also, fuck Ted Faro.
Also, my biggest gripe is that you get shut out of Mother's heart, so if you're reading and haven't played, make sure you have done everything you want to there otherwise you will be shut out until the end of the game.
