The graphics were excellent for their time: detailed locations, lighting effects and simulation of combat scenes made a strong impression. The developers have tried to make each mission eventful by adding realistic animations and graphic elements that allow you to experience all the horrors and tension of war. In "Modern Warfare", for the first time in the series, one can observe the cinematic approach that set the bar for the subsequent installments of the franchise. The missions are thought out to the smallest detail — whether it's covert infiltration, hostage rescue, or active combat, where the adrenaline is pumping. Special attention should be paid to the "All in Camouflage" mission, where you immerse yourself in a stealth operation in the Chernobyl zone. I remember this mission most of all because of the tense atmosphere and the almost documentary accuracy of the location display. Well, when you're lying among the grass, and enemies are passing right next to you, you really feel the danger in your gut. But it's just a game. That's the skill of developers and immersion. The modern military action setting also played a role. Unlike the previous installments, where the theme of the Second World War dominated, "Modern Warfare" refreshed the franchise, shifting the action into the context of modern conflicts. It was probably a risky move, but it fully justified itself. After all, we've seen WW2 many times, and in movies too, but it was very interesting to see a modern military conflict. "Call of Duty 4" not only set the standards for future games in the series, but also changed the perception of the shooter genre. The game has become a benchmark for military action games, and its successful formula has been repeated many times both in the series itself and among competitors. The game has a lot of cool multiplayer features. I've only heard about it, I haven't played it myself. But this is also an important milestone in the development of the series. All these elements made "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" not only a great single-player campaign, but also a multiplayer phenomenon that captivated for hours, offering balanced and intense action.
