Fuku no Kami(1966)

Fuku no Kami

A would-be comic artist and his friend are in their apartment when they discover that the story artist submitted into the newest issue of an SF magazine didn't make it in. The landlady comes to warn him to pay his rent, or he would be evicted the next day. Both the artist and his friend gather up their belongings and skip out of the apartment. They roam around on streets and start speculating that they are in an SF story.
