August 1943. The Japanese airbase at Rabaul was being harassed by American attacks. Defended by a large fleet of battleships and destroyers, the carrier island was equipped with the devil's secret weapon, an anti-aircraft gun with radar, which made it impossible to launch a preemptive attack. When the base captain was explaining this to a team of reporters, a reporter from the mainland pointed out one of them was a fake. His name is Yoshihiko Nanjo. After graduating from the army school, he was given the code name Sakura No. 1 and assigned to infiltrate the carrier island to destroy the anti-aircraft guns. He was injured and captured by the enemy who wanted to learn his secrets. But he escaped using the special tool hidden in his clothing. He stole an aircraft with a bomb, hoping to take out the anti-aircraft gun, but the bomb failed to explode. Bombarded by shells, the aircraft was badly damaged and he was seriously injured, Sakura No. 1 sent his plane at the anti-aircraft gun on a suicide attack, successfully destroying it at the cost of his own life. The tragic hero Sakura No. 1 accomplished his mission without anyone knowing.
