This volume compiles two 1965 rental manga stories starring characters who use their rebellious spirit to try to preserve individual justice and freedom in the midst of feudal society. In Meitou Ruten, a man grows up in the face of adversity when his fiancée is robbed according to the rules of a tournament of master swordsmen. And Rakujou no Fu tells the fate of a man persecuted by his lord for having played a forbidden melody.
