A black wall encloses the city, and anyone who touches it becomes a hideous monster bent on destruction. When Akaya touches the wall, it happens to him, too. Somehow, he is able to retain enough of himself to protect humanity from the monsters. But is he alone enough to defend humanity from the hundreds of monsters who seek wanton mayhem?
