Are you ready to give up vanilla sky?
Hollywood remakes of good films from other countries are quite familiar. Reinterpretation of original paintings with their adaptation to American culture is often very worthy. In addition, there is a much higher chance that much more people will see the American version, because this is how the film industry develops. American films are the most popular on the planet. However, sometimes it is quite difficult to surpass the original paintings and convey the energy of the film as it is in the original picture.
The Hollywood remake of the good film "Open your Eyes" by Alejandro Amenabar became one of the brightest representatives of a successful film, which, in my opinion, not only preserved the entire palette of colors of the original work, but also was able to competently multiply them, to focus on those places that improved the perception of the whole story and made the world of "Vanilla Sky" even more brighter. The work of director Cameron Crowe makes you follow the events with unprecedented tension.
The picture introduces us to the energetic handsome David performed by Tom Cruise. He is doing quite well in life, he is the heir of the parent's successful industry, is popular with girls, he has a best friend. A chance meeting turns his life upside down when he meets the modest and charming beauty Sofia, played by Penelope Cruz. Does it sound like the beginning of some romantic comedy? Take your time. This film will literally send you on an unexpected adventure in a matter of minutes, where with each new scene you will plunge into the complex world of the main character and the people around him.
The story is so extraordinary that soon you catch yourself thinking that everything is not just like that, but the intricate interweaving of human destinies and the clash of heroes will make you try to understand until the very end what happened there, at the very beginning of the film, that the events went exactly this scenario.
The world that director Crowe gave us is literally filled with multifaceted references to cultural phenomena. Attentive viewers will begin to notice them even by the middle of the film, perhaps even frown, realizing that this or that frame, fact, music is supposedly known to him. But don't worry, by the end of the picture everything will begin to form into an understandable picture, which will make you smile slightly and probably with sadness when you put together everything that happened on the screen. I dare not reveal the details, you will see everything for yourself. The brighter your feelings will be.
"Vanilla Sky" has become a kind of quintessence of visual and audio series, which generate a certain melancholy when viewed. The fantastic and sometimes extraordinary presentation of the material makes you literally fall into the oppressive world of the main character David, which gets more and more bogged down in his problems. This is understandable. When you seem to have everything you want, and then you realize what true love is, you suddenly rethink your world. But when you lose all this, you really find yourself in some kind of prostration, because the world will not be the same anymore.
The feeling in the final is difficult to convey. Heaviness and sadness, a feeling of hopelessness. The hero faces a choice, but, as for me, any of the options is somehow a loser. Any of the finals is somehow winning. It depends on who and how they treat him. "Vanilla Sky" is a movie with a capital letter. A gorgeous story, a bright world, great acting. Thanks to the high-quality production, visual and audio components, this work has become a very important event in the world of cinema. And I strongly advise you to see this movie.
