In 1986 he completed his first major works in collaboration with Akyo Makata in Ahomansu and Meisouou Boodaa. Afterwards, Tsuchiya collaborated with draftsman [Kaiji Kawaguchi](https://anilist.co/staff/97204/Kaiji-Kawaguchi) for the title, Tokishozo Disturbs and Losses. In 1992-1993 he collaborated with [Jirou Taniguchi](https://anilist.co/staff/98025/Jirou-Taniguchi/) for the manga [Ao no Senshi](https://anilist.co/manga/107323/Ao-no-Senshi/), [Knuckle Wars](https://anilist.co/manga/135794/Knuckle-Wars/) and [Live! Odyssey](https://anilist.co/manga/135795/Live-Odyssey/).

He also worked with Nobuaki Minegishi for the manga [Old Boy](https://anilist.co/manga/31929/Old-Boy/), upon which Park Chan-wook's 2003 film Oldboy is based.
