Graduated with a master degree in Fine Design, she began in 1997 to produce and publish comic works, as well as design covers and illustrations for Chinese comic magazines.

She has paricipated to many exhibitions worldwide (in 2006, in Compound gallery in California. In 2007, the exhibition "Comic artist's desire" took place in Hong Kong Arts Center). She also invested herself in animation : the animation film "White Snake", directed by her at the beginning, took part in the Annecy Film festival in France in 2007 and Stuttgart International film festival in Germany in 2008, as the only Chinese one in competition. Later, it has been invited to many others Animation Festivals in the world. In addition, Rain has attended the "Retrospective exhibition of Chinese Modern film" in Montreal and the 10th Wiesbaden International Weekend of Animation. She his now working on new projects, including the production of manhuas or the cooperation with John Woo to design characters of his new movies. Rain is also a teacher in animation department of China Academy of Art School of Media and Animation.
