The horrors of World War II live on in many minds, but I hold a precious memory from 1944 close to my heart. Secreted away in the Black Forest of France, I met him. He should have been my enemy, but as we fought together to stop the monsters created by Hitler’s thirst for a werewolf army, survival turned into passion.

Now, forty-one years later, he’s back––not in France, but the shadowy streets of New Orleans, home of dark voodoo, haunted cemeteries, and sultry July heat that could drive a normal human mad. Together we have to find the soucouyant, a Haitian shapeshifting vampire, terrorizing the city. And I’ll have to tell him we have a son––a powerful monster hunter trained by me.

It will take all three of us to destroy this vampire shifter. What an interesting family reunion…
